Hazmat: Shipping Papers
This 6 min video goes over the importance of having you shipping papers easily available in order to communicate with an emergency responder.
Quite often we're communicating risk to an emergency responder. The responder may be someone from an agency like the DOT or the State Police, it may be someone who works for an emergency response company.
We have to tell them what the danger is, we have to tell them about the risk as early as we can, sometimes before that responder gets near our truck or our trailer, because the responder is the one with the special skill to know how to deal with the spill.
If we don't tell them what the risk is they may be harmed as they respond - they may become ill, they may become unconscious - because we didn't communicate the risk properly.
